Here you can see what one of my poor cars became after some bad fortune and years of subsequent neglect. Once a nice street car, this Brooklands Green/Tan 1994 was the mirror of my pal Andys car. (I got it just to tweak him by parking it in "his spot" at Starbucks - but that's another whole story...)
Anyways... that idyllic scene lasted until I went to SEMA in 1999 and met some carbon fiber body panel guys. We made a deal to make a body kit for the car and I dropped at their shop. Then they went out of business and their employees stripped the car etc. I was lucky to get what was left of it back. It has sat forlornly in the corner of our storage for 6-7 years.
My how time flies when you are too busy to think straight, but sometimes that is a good thing as you don't have access to the right shop for the job until they appear.... AAP to the rescue!!
I selected AAP to do the restoration after seeing the before and after of one of the Panteras they had taken in. YIKES!! Besides, their shop car is a green 1994 so they have that to look at in case they forget where anything is supposed to go! (just kidding Jim)
Since we wanted to keep this car street legal for eventual California registration, we needed all the motor related build parts to be CARB certified. With that in mind we are fitting a Comptech SC and Comptech headers (modified by Dali) so it has a bit of get up and go. See the spec sheet tab above for links to all the goodies.
We will chronicle the restoration efforts here.
